Formerly known as the Ridgemont Reserve, 1792 is a bourbon distilled in Bardstown, Kentucky. It is named in honor of the year Kentucky became an independent state. This Bourbon is created in small batches and aged for eight years. It is a spicy bourbon, rich in rye, which begs to be tasted. Little known to the general public, it is a little gem. He got a whopping 94.5 points in the 2013 Jim Murray Whiskey Bible.

TASTING NOTE small-batch-1792-for-sale
Nose : Oaky, notes of vanilla, orange and a slight hint of spices.
Taste : Well balanced, the usual bourbon aromas are present with vanilla and caramel. Weaker notes of dried fruit, pine and nuts are slightly noticeable. The palate is soft and creamy.
Finish : The sweet caramel notes fade to give way to a woody finish.

THE BRAND
Barton 1792 is a distillery founded in 1879 in Bardstown, Kentucky, owned by the Sazerac company. 1792 Ridgemont Reserve was originally introduced to the market by Barton as “Ridgewood Reserve 1792”. The Brown-Forman Corporation sued Barton for trademark infringement, arguing that Ridgewood Reserve’s name and design could confuse consumers with Brown-Forman’s Woodford Reserve trademark. A federal judge ruled in favor of Brown-Forman in 2004, and Barton changed the name of the product to comply with the ruling.
